| Tuesday night at Doubles in the Sherry Netherland, Cynthia Lufkin and Dr. Marisa Weiss, President and Founder of Breastcancer.org [1] hosted a reception for Kelly Corrigan on the day of the release of her new book, Lift. This is Ms. Corrigan's second book. Her first The Middle Plac, chronicaled her experience with breast cancer and was on the NYTimes Bestseller List for 24 weeks. There have been almost 5 million views of her video "Transcending" on YouTube. |

| Among the guests was Rochelle Hirsch whose book Lumps and Bumps [2] was written to introduce the topic of breast cancer to chlldren in a non-threatening manner; also Geralyn Lucas who wrote Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy; Maisa Accocella Marchetto, author of The Cancer Vixen and Lee Woodruff who wrote In an Instant and Perfectly Imperfect: A life in Progress. Breast cancer has become so common in our country most of us know someone and perhaps many women who have had it and survived it. This reception was a kind of recognition of those women who've survived and lent a hand to those women who have been afflicted. |

| Monday night at Michael's Liz Smith hosted a pre-event cocktail party for Literacy Partners' 26th Annual Evening of Readings. Among this years Literacy Partners honorees will be Barbara Taylor Bradford and her husband filmmaker Robert Bradford; Sara Gruen, author of "Water for Elephants," Pulitzer Prize winning author David Finkel of "The Good Soldiers," and Mary Karr, author of "Liar's Club" and "Lit." They will be reading from their works at the Gala on May 10th. |

| This past Tuesday night at the Park Avenue Armory at 67th Street they held the preview of 22nd annual The Art Show benefiting the Henry Street Settlement. The Art Show is organized by the Art Dealers Association of America. Honorary chairs for the evening were Bunty and Tom Armstrong, Agnes Gund, Susana Torruella Leval, and Adam Sheffer. Co-chairs were Estrelita and Daniel Brodsky, Alexandra Lebenthal and Byron and Anita Volz Wien. |
