FGI’s RISING STAR AWARDS Luncheon at CIPRIANI

It is important and savvy to understand that even during these tough economic times, an industry recognizes and supports its new emerging talent. So it was that the Fashion Group International presented the well-attended 13th Annual Rising Star Awards Luncheon at Cipriani 42nd Street.

It was inspiring to witness a group of hopefuls tearfully accepting their awards from high visibility Design Industry successes. Presenter Eco-friendly Interior and Product Designer Clodagh was, as always insightful, quoting writer Anais Nin – “Life expands or contracts according to one’s courage.”
The Rising Star Winners (not in order) Amanda Pearl Brotman. Juliette karague Uzoglou, Janet League-Katzin, Monica Rich Katzan, Dror Benshetrit, Anthony Keegan and Richard Christiansen, Edward Chai and Paul Birardi, Joseph Altuzarra, and Peter Hidalgo.
The Fashion Group International was founded in 1930 as the first non-profit Fashion Organization by and for women. The founding members included the likes of Elizabeth Arden, Edna Woolman Chase, Lily Dache, Edith Head, Claire McCardell, Virginia Pope, and Eleanor Roosevelt. The organization is now global and includes dynamic men as well as women of achievement.
